The Racconti Mediterranei Summer School, Caorle, Italy
The “Racconti Mediterranei” (Mediterranean Tales) Summer School of the European Constructivist Therapy Network (ECTN), took place in Caorle (Italy) from 28th May to 3rd June ’07.
This was a great event organised by the Institute of Constructivist Psychology (Italy) in collaboration with the Serbian Constructivist Association (Serbia) and the Personal Construct Psychology Association (United Kingdom) and it had ‘the blessing’ of the European Personal Construct Association. The success of the event was confirmed by the large number of students in Personal Construct Psychotherapy who participated with an enormous amount of interest and enjoyment – forty-six in all!
Racconti Mediterranei has been the first step – but surely not the last - of ECTN, the new network between European Schools in Psychotherapy devoted to Personal Construct Psychology (PCP) and to a constructivist/constructionist approach.
The formula was very simple: a week together, offering a programme of workshops and lectures, with time free for socialising, visiting in the local area, and exchanging ideas and interests in informal ways.
“Enthusiasm” was the key word of this challenging experience. Teachers and students of our schools have really exchanged experiences and learnt together in a “living” constructivist environment. So, the prime inspiration to build connections and share ideas and resources to enrich our work has been achieved.
Following this success Mary Frances, Dusan Stojnov and Massimo Giliberto are already organizing the second edition of Racconti Mediterranei. The new event, however, will be reserved to 45/50 students to preserve the quality of the event.
